2013 Annual General Meeting and Election

Dear members,

Thank you all for coming to the Annual Dinner on March 2, 2013. For those who could not attend this time, please join us in the future because you missed a lot of laughs and sharing of interesting stories by your alumni and their families.

2013 Summer Picnic and Mahjong Tornament

On July 27, fifty one members and guests attended the annual summer gathering at Harbor Bay Isle Community Center in Alameda.  

Our activities began with the singing of the school song, led by Nelson Tsang, introducing the board 

members and voting of the QESAAUSA constitution amendment.  

To promote healthy living we had home cooked meals with several vegetarian dishes.  Special thanks to 

Lin Chua who had spent a week to prepare and cook five gourmet salted ducks.  Both Lin Chua and Patsy

The Annual General Meetings of QESOSA and QESOSA EPO will be held on 31 August 2013 (Saturday) at Regal Kowloon Hotel, 71 Mody Road, Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon, Hong Kong. Please refer to the respective Notices of Meeting of QESOSA and QESOSA EPO attached for details.

Welcome Hayley Chai, class 1970, to QESAAUSA

Please welcome new member Hayley Chai

Please join me in welcoming Hayley Chai to QESAAUSA.

Hayley belongs to the class of 1970 but left the school for the United States at the beginning of Form 5. She continued her education in Los Angeles where she graduated from UCLA. She has been a teacher for 30 years. Currently she is teaching in a public high school and a community college. 

Hayley lives in Southern California. She is married to husband Tan.

Welcomes Morgan Kan (簡敏廉), of the class of 1960, to QESAAUSA

Please welcome Morgan Kan

The Association welcomes Morgan Kan (簡敏廉), of the class of 1960, to QESAAUSA. He joined the Association in early June 2012.

Morgan graduated from QES in 1960 and then went on to King’s College for Form 6 and 7 and matriculated in 1962. He then joined Hang Seng Bank where he worked for twenty years until 1982. He moved to USA in 1983 and is now living in Milpitas, CA.

Morgan loves swimming and Chinese calligraphy. He is retired since 2009. Now he administers therapeutic massage for people who suffer back pain.

Welcomes Sheung Mei Wong Liu (廖王尚美), of the class of 1961, to QESAAUSA

Please welcome Sheung Mei Wong

The Association welcomes Sheung Mei Wong Liu (廖王尚美), of the class of 1961, to QESAAUSA. 

After QES, Sheung Mei went on to Sir Robert Black College of Education for her teacher training and had been an elementary school teacher for 10 years before she came to New York City in 1972. She went on to study in New York University and worked as a bilingual secretary for Value Line.
